Summary/Abstract: This study attempts a multimodal critical discourse analysis (MCDA) of Netanyahu’s political speech at the 2023 UN General Assembly. The aim is to help the readers decipher and evaluate politicians’ pictures and speeches by providing a few strategies as guidance. The procedure adopted for this analytical research is inspired by Halliday’s work An Introduction to Functional Grammar (2004). Consequently, the objects or symbols from a photograph and words from a speech or text function similarly in conveying information to the readers or audience, and additionally, involve a similar process of analysis. In conclusion, these strategies are intended to improve the audience’s comprehension of the meaning of a speech and politicians’ intentions.
