Summary/Abstract: This article presents a document on the establishment of the State Archives in Craiova. This document is a letter addressed by the man of culture C.D. Fortunescu to his younger colleague C.S. Nicolăescu-Plopșor. It describes the efforts made to set up the archives and the disagreement between the two men as to who should head the future institution.
