Summary/Abstract: Hristo Nikiforov Daskalov from Tryavna was one of the many students of Petko Rachev Slaveikov. The relationship between the two was close at the time when they were just a student and a teacher, and later grew into a friendship. Daskalov was close to all of Slaveykov's children, but perhaps closest to Ivan Slaveykov. It was through him that he maintained his relationship with his former teacher. After Petko's death in 1895, Hristo Daskalov and Ivan Slaveykov began a campaign to find evidence of the deceased's activities. Daskalov searched for remnants of Petko Slaveykov’s works and documents, and wrote memoirs of his teacher. He worked tirelessly to preserve the memory of his esteemed teacher, and when that memory was threatened, he reacted immediately and sharply.
