Summary/Abstract: The need to purchase F-35 aircraft results from very important reasons. The potential threat from the Russian Federation accelerated the need to strengthen the combat potential of aviation in Poland. The purpose of this material was to diagnose (identify) the process of changes in the tactical air base, which is related to the implementation of the F-35 aircraft into opera- tion. The main research methods used in the material discussed include a review of the subject literature, comparative studies, analysis and generalization. Many decisions regarding the Harpia operational program are still under development or will be made in the coming time. Some of them involve choosing where to base the planes, while others concern infrastructure details. The 21st Tactical Air Base is being considered as a place for stationing Polish F-35 aircraft. These aircraft differ significantly from the Su-22 aircraft previously operated at the base, which requires special attention when adapting the organizational structure, aviation infrastructure and staff training process. The 21st Tactical Air Base must undergo a real evolution in the coming years. Any changes in the relationship between man and the aircraft, which imply transforma- tions in the structure, organization and tasks of personnel during the operation process, require a quantitative and qualitative transformation of knowledge, skills and experi- ence, which is necessary in this process.
