Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the common themes and devices in the collection of novels by Polish writers born in the 1970s, considering the novel Pulverkopf by Edward Pasewicz as the culmination of the gradually emerging trend. The compared elements include intersemiotic references to various arts (especially music), often in the convention of a novel about an artist, the multiplicity of time plans in the plot, connecting the present with the tragic history of the 20th century, and the multiethnicity and multilingual nature of the presented world. The complexity of the texture of the examined texts makes it possible to compare them to a neo-Romantic symphony, as Pasewicz explicitly does with his work.
