Summary/Abstract: In the current political context, where democracy and equal opportunities are fundamental values, the analysis of participation and gender representation in elections becomes essential. The fair representation of women and men in the electoral process is not only a fundamental rights issue, but also influences the quality of governance and public policies. In many countries, women have long been excluded from the political life, and the struggle for gender equality in elections has been and continues to be a difficult and complex process.
