Summary/Abstract: Electoral crimes are illegal and immoral acts aimed at influencing or manipulating electoral processes in order to obtain an undue advantage or to undermine their integrity and legitimacy. These crimes can be committed by candidates, political parties, election officials, voters or third parties, and can take various forms. These acts compromise the fairness, transparency and fairness of electoral processes, undermining democracy and public trust in democratic institutions. Combating electoral crimes requires a robust legislative framework, independent and efficient institutions, and an informed and active civil society.
