Summary/Abstract: The article aims to examine and highlight some basic contradictions in the constitutional regulation of jurisdiction in Bulgaria, and to point out certain institutional and political interests underlying this regulation. If sociology has the task, by distinguishing and defining fundamental social problems, to identify possible alternative solutions to them, I find this to be a difficult task, inasmuch as influential groups of jurists have no interest in an authentic solution to the contradictions involved in juridical regulation in our country. The imposed status quo in this field has a long history and a specific social logic that goes beyond the present day. On the other hand the recently fashionable populist and technocratic interpretations in this sphere do not contribute much to a true solution of the crisis in Bulgarian legal regulation.
