CONTRIBUTION OF PATËR ZEF JANKAJ ON ALBANIAN FOLKLORE

Summary/Abstract: I have learnt the name of Patër Zef Jankaj from his D o s s i e r in the Archive of Institute for Albanian Studies in Prishtina. In our archive are present the names of folklore collectors which willingly and passionately worked and still work in preservation of folk culture heritage. They are a great support helping publishing activity in Institute for Albanian Studies and activity in scientific work in general. From this D o s s i e r I have taken songs for collections “Love songs I, II”, “Folk songs of National Revival” and “Historic songs I, II, III, IV“. Such pleasant encounter had everyone who prepared for publication collections with folk matter. This dossier shows the work of pedantic person and serious intellectual. But, for assessing as good as possible the contribution of Patër Zef Jankaj, we will use materials which he collected and were published with the title “Oral Composition (Krajë- Malësi)”, by adorers of his unspent work.
