Summary/Abstract: In their efforts and struggles by the Albanians to create their own state, the League of Prizren enhanced very much its diplomatic and combative activity, at first for defending their territories from neighbouring chauvinist invaders, including the aspect of recognition of the Albanians as a nation and of Albania as a state. These were major and serious efforts. Comprehensive activity of the Albanian League of Prizren was reflected by our singers with a special zealousness. This period produced an immense fund (stock) of historical poetry that expresses a sad reality of the Albanians, in special of the territories which fought a defending fight. These songs are peculiar for their specificities as outcome of circumstances and struggles of that time. Songs of this period are discerned with its structure not alike with previous epical songs. In this context Shkodra which was closer to the attacked territories and had perpetual brotherly links with them, played a significant organisation and military role. Therefore, it was reflected in the songs, considering it a Piedmont of this part of the Albanian territories. Personified, concretised with comparisons, metaphors, symbols, hyperboles, compliments and other figures, Shkodra seemed as a grandiose artistic monument in songs about the Albanian League of Prizren
