Summary/Abstract: The present paper emphasizes the transcultural and transreligious character of Adonis’s work. Alî Ahmad Esber is nowadays considered one of the greatest poets of Arabic origin of all times. A transcultural being, Adonis was born in Syria (1930), has Lebanese nationality, lives in Paris, and has adopted the French language for his writings. Exile is the fundamental experience of the poet, guiding him towards the transcultural horizon. His creation unveils what lies between cultures, at their hearts, and beyond any culture. For Adonis transreligion rests beyond any discourse, but can be tasted, experienced, and felt in the magic of his poetry.
