THE CARAVAN SARAY AND THE INN – THE BULGARIAN MICROCOSMOS IN THE COSMOPOLITAN CITY

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses two topoi in patriarchical Bulgaria – a part of the personal as well as of the public sphere. The focus of attention is on the ‘Balkapan inn’. The author studies the functions of the inn, the etymology of the words, the place of the inn in the value system of the Bulgarian.
