Risk management in the self-government public finance sector

Summary/Abstract: The subject of the considerations in this article relied on the assessment of implementing procedures of risk management as well as their influence on the proper functioning of finance and activity of territorial self-government units. The basic research material constitutes information coming from primary sources, obtained as a result of the survey research performed among 10 territorial self-government units from the region of Subcarpathia. The results of the survey performed in the units of the sector of selfgovernment finance in Subcarpathian Voivodeship showed that the implemented mechanisms of managerial control in great majority provide proper management of public resources and they exert a significant influence on the effectiveness and efficiency in achieving goals and tasks within a unit.
