Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present several opinions related to the origins of the deity and of the mysteries, his four main stages of evolution and the polymorphic aspect of the god, the peculiar features for the microasian area, as well as some characteristics of the Graeco-Roman mithraism from the beginning of the second century A.D.
