Trade relations between Poland and chosen EU member economies at the time of economic instability

Summary/Abstract: The year 2008 initiated economic crisis and instability in the world economy. Most EU economies were also hit by the crisis. The development of Poland’s trade with the European Union as well as with the chosen EU trade partners has been studied in the article. The value of trade, trade balance and commodity pattern of exports and imports have been considered. In order to determine the character of advantages achieved by Poland on Single European Market and on the markets of Germany, France, Italy and Great Britain B. Balassa’s revealed comparative advantage indicator (RCA) has been adopted. The analysis has been undertaken for the years 2007-2010. Data published by Central Statistical Office have been used for the analysis.
