SCIENTIFIC PROFILE OF REXHEP QOSJA

Summary/Abstract: A polyedric author, literature historian and critics, prose writer and dramatist, essayist and publicist polemist, Rexhep Qosja is one of most distinguished figures of Albanian contemporary culture and science. With his scientific and organisation work and activity, he has been playing the role of an institution in our cultural life and he has created a whole library of literature from sciences of Albanology, history of literature and of history. The studies for historical process of development of Albanian literature of past centuries, judgments (estimation) about its actual developments and polemic writings with dense historical arguments about Albanian national question comprise the main fond of this corpus of scientific works created within period of forty years. In the scientific profile of Rexhep Qosja his principles of his human moral has left their traces. A man, as he writes, in any work he does, he puts (encloses) part of his honour. This principle of ethics in science is one of peculiarities of the work of this scholar of indepen-dent opinion, with an anti-conformist temper and soul, of this outstanding scientist and intellectual, whose moral conscience cannot accept any compromise and dictate, which may repress truth and puts under question objectivity, honour and scientific and human honesty.
