Possibilities for financing the development of social tourism in Poland

Summary/Abstract: For many years, in Western Europe, we have been observing the growing interest of state governments and local authorities in the development of social tourism. It is a tool which aim is to include into tourism these individuals who, for various reasons, have been excluded from the participation in such activities. In Poland these problems are novelty. For the purposes of future social tourism development in our country it is not only necessary to define the potential groups of its beneficiaries, but also to indicate the possible sources and methods for financing it. The article discusses the problems of possibilities related to financing social tourism development by attracting attention to these solutions which can contribute to the definitely more extensive participation in tourism of these citizens who have been excluded from it as a result of, e.g. economic, health oriented or social reasons.
