Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to identify regional differences of Poles tourist activity in summer and to try to identify the factors that cause this differentiation. The study was conducted on a representative sample of Poles, by personal interview. The study distinguishes seven homogeneous regions. In the structure of tourist trips, journey from July to September constituted approximately 50% of all the journeys within a year. Among the surveyed regions most holiday travel was planned by residents of economically stronger regions (central, south and south-western). The study identifies the regional differentiation of tourist activity of Poles, as evidenced by such differences among the regions as: length of time travel, way of organizing or a travel destination.
