Summary/Abstract: The news was contained in a report prepared by Carl Ferdinand Peters, professor at the University of Pest, made during a scientific trip to Transylvania, in the Apuseni Mountains in 1858. At the meeting of June 8, 1860 of the Academy of Sciences in Vienna, Peters presented an ample report on the geological results of his Transylvanian trip. His report, however, also includes some facts about the customs, language and situation of the Romanians from the regions he traveled.
