Summary/Abstract: The unicorn’s parable was known by the Romanian readers through the novel Varlaam and Ioasaf, but also by its independent re-copying after sellections of Byzantine literature such as Life of the Saints. Sometimes pursuers of human being differ from those known through the remembered novel, meaning in certain writings such as: Bible, Paterikon, Kniga izmaragd etc. Similarly, special attention is paid to manuscript copysts (in this case, the majority from Transylvania), as active carriers of culture in Romanian language.
