Summary/Abstract: NLP has a very useful map of how language operates, namely the Meta-Model. It aims at identifying those linguistic patterns which are likely to generate vagueness and at recreating them by using questions to clarify meaning. Neuro-Linguistic Programming names these questions meta-model questions, as they shed some light on the meta meaning of words. The Meta-Model is needed when applying NLP to business English as a means of improving language patterns in communication.
