Innovation activity of Polish manufacturing enterprises based on the example of Łódź Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: Enterprises that operate in the changeable environment ought to be characterised by the high intensity of innovation and respond to market needs with new products and technologies as well as organisational and marketing innovations. Both external conditions connected with the environment as well as internal determinants constituting the innovation potential of the enterprise which allows to create and commercialise innovations are important for their innovation activity. Innovativeness of Polish enterprises, however, is at a relatively low level resulting from a difficult financial situation and their aversion to risky ventures such as research and development activity. The aim of the paper is to present the main areas of innovation activity of Polish manufacturing enterprises illustrated with the example of the companies that operate in Łódź Voivodeship.
