Summary/Abstract: The article analyses linear features of selected prepositions and prepositional phrases (wbrew, na przekór, skutkiem, na z³oœæ) which are not typical. The preposition with regard to noun is considered against the definitional and typical features of prepositions and - in the case of phrases - against the problem of their interpretations as syntactic units or structures. The phenomenon is illustrated mainly with poems by J. Przybora.
