Polish phraseology and phraseography in research after 1989

Summary/Abstract: The last twenty five years have brought an increasing interest in phraseologisms. The article presents contemporary research on Polish phraseology — the author systematizes phraseological studies and describes their main achievements. The following issues are presented: — phraseologisms as units of language — phraseologisms as a part of lexical resource — phraseologisms as exponents of the relation: language — human — culture — phraseologisms as elements of texts and style — phraseologisms as objects of lexicography. The present research is both a continuation of the studies from the 1970s and 1980s and new approaches to phraseology.
