Summary/Abstract: The article considers Probation, a new institute of Criminal Law. It presents an in-depth analysis of the following problems: the definition of probation; international practice related to the implementation of probation and its imposing as punishment under the Bulgarian Penal Code. The article focuses on the latest amendments to the Penal Code, The Law on execution of punishments and the Penal Procedure Code related to the issues discussed.
