Summary/Abstract: The current operational environment is complex. The planning of all military actions must be coupled with other non-military, potential multinational and non-governmental initiatives intended to stabilize and create a self-sustainable security environment. Thus, a military response must be integrated into a broader framework or a comprehensive approach. The Armed Forces of economically powerful states and democracies are able to cope with a wide variety of asymmetric challenges, but require specific doctrinal changes in order to be successfully countered.
