Summary/Abstract: The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of gender and nationality upon the evaluation of persuasion strategies. Specifically, we have investigated if the impact of gender upon the evaluation of persuasion strategies depends on the participants’ nationality (Romanian vs .Moldavian). The participants, 160 students (80 from Moldavia and 80 from Romania), responded to the Persuasion Schemas Evaluation Scale and were asked to choose one strategy of persuasion in order to influence the target. The 2 (gender: male vs female) × 2 (nationality: Romanian vs .Moldavian) variance analysis indicated the existence of some main effects of gender and nationality upon the evaluation of persuasion strategies. An interaction effect of the independent variables upon the personal benefits persuasion strategy also appeared. The results are discussed based on the male and female traditional role perspective and within the cultural and political influences exerted upon the Moldavian people.
