Summary/Abstract: The text presents a well known Bulgarian accordionist from the near past, Angel Vangelkov, who now lives in Vienna. His autobiographical story attempts at tracing a potentially possible example of development of a musician having received his education in Bulgaria and developed as a musician there. Then he acquired good positions as a performer in a foreign musical context - in his case European one (the accordionist immigrated in Vienna after 1989) – which changed his repertoire thoroughly making it “international”. His way of expression also changed as well as his perspective on musical performance – it has turned into a product with contents dictated by its commercial value. And it is mainly this development that signifies the transition from national to the international. Still by means of this international “package”, which the accordionist offers as a kind of a tourist attraction, he takes his own individual part in “constructing” European musical space as multilingual and pluralistic one.
