Summary/Abstract: The paper describes the key assumptions to make the flexible compensation decisions in organization. Flexibility can be viewed in two dimensions: in the area of autonomy and independence of decision-making, which results in the delegation of decision-making executives of medium and lower level. The second dimension is a possibility of the configuration for flexible compensation system components. This range influences the system determinants of flexible decision-making. The main determinants of compensation flexibility in decision-making can include: competence based pay, performance related pay, broadbanding, the negotiation mode to set a pay point and a support by market analysis for compensation levels. The text outlines the role of managers in the real release of compensation flexibility.
