Summary/Abstract: The paper presents empirical findings on the audit of the first implementation of system of performance appraisal at the University of Gdańsk for non-academic employees. The main attention is paid to recognize employees’ opinions about their subjective feelings after the first attempt of their assessment. A key objective of the analysis of the information which is obtained in this way is to include employees’ suggestions of rational proposals for changes and for improvements to implement the appraisal system. It should consequently increase the efficiency of the evaluation system by flexible adaptation of the employee evaluation system to the included changes. The analysis was carried out in the division of executive and managerial positions. The audit of the system of evaluation by employee opinion poll in a positive way makes more elasticity to implement the results of the evaluation, and for the improvement of the overall evaluation process.
