Summary/Abstract: The article brings the portrait of Nikola Petrović I, Montenegrin sovereign since 1860 and until its end, when it was decided that the Montenegro should unite with Serbia on the way of their final unification with the other Yugoslav nations and countries. There was no other way in these times; neither had been suggested by anyone. Its first joint title had been The Kinghood of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, while since the proclamation of the first Constitution in 1921 - the state was named The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. That name had been also changed in Kingdom of Yugoslavia, which was confirmed in Constitution of 1931. The structure of article is rather unusual. Its parts are based on the heritage of people’s wisdom, summarized in chosen thoughts and sentences: Every man has its time; We fought – even before we were born; What time wants – that people must; Even if I said – I didn’t cut; When he speaks – he makes the honey, while when he works – he plants the thorns.
