Summary/Abstract: As part of a broader study of the philosophical Sufi teachings of Ali-Dede Bošnjak, the author of this paper dedicates particular attention to his teaachings on man. With original manuscripts by Ali-Dede Bošnjak as the basis of the study, almost every major philosophical theological question concerning man as microcosmos is considered, along with human anatomy which, in the Muslim scientific tradition, is associated with Islamic metapphysics, cosmology and philosophy, for the subject of these disciplines is none other than the man-microcosmos, the sum of the entire world and God’s supreme creation in the world. The author continues by addressing Ali-Dede’s teachings on the soul, and concludes with the ways of attaining the virtues through which man transcends this objective world and aspires to achieve the degree of the “perfect man,” which is at the very heart of the traditional anthropological Sufi experience.
