Financial situation of poviats in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in 2008-2010

Summary/Abstract: The problem of management of public money by local governments is crucial due to growing public needs and limited sources. Any assessment of the financial situation of local government units is a difficult task, as it requires taking into account many different elements. The paper shows an attempt to such evaluation, with the variables and statistical tools adopted by its authors. The financial situation of examined poviats was much differentiated, although there were leaders as well as those occupying the last positions.
