Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to investigate the intellectual climate at the Paris University during 1269–1277. This research tries to clear up connections of this climate with the so–called change of Thomas Aquinas thinking on the question of human freedom at the time when two lists of condemned philosophical propositions were declared. It also investigates whether and to what extent the historical situation had influence on the thought and writings of the outstanding medieval theologian and philosopher.
