Summary/Abstract: As a reaction to complicated cataloging process that requires the application of more specialized ISBD's rules and due to perceived possibility of cataloging rules harmonization, the process of seven specialized ISBD's and ISBD(G) consolidation resulted in July 2011 with the issue of the International Standard Bibliographic Description. Significant novelty of Consolidated ISBD, Area 0, is an impressive attempt of the Material Designations Study Group to define the early warning device for users of catalog. This work will analyze the three required elements of the mentioned Area (Content Form, Content Qualification and Media Type), its strong impact on the areas 3, 5 and 7 and will try to indicate the extent to which the conflict between content carrier and content is resolved in Consolidated ISBD.
