Summary/Abstract: In this article the authors discuss selected aspects of the population ageing processes in Poland. The first section reviews the most important demographic data, including the forecast of demographic changes. Next, the authors cover the consequences of the population ageing and the challenges it creates for social and economic policy (impact on labour market, healthcare system and pension system).
