E-government and the efficiency of public sector

Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the issue concerning the relationship between the electronic administration and efficiency of the public sector. The aim of the article is to show the role of public organizations in shaping an effective public sector and to examine the impact of the development of public services provided electronically on the level of bureaucracy, corruption and administrative transparency in the European Union. The factors identified above are considered to be the primary source of inefficiency of the public sector, restricting the economic management of public property.
