Institutional competitiveness −selected methodological issues

Summary/Abstract: The subject of discussion of this publication is the issue referring to the possibility of measurement of institutional competitiveness by new institutional economics theory and contemporary research on the competitiveness of national economies. The aim is to show the role of the institutions created in the countries and supranational organizations, as well as the related problems of estimation and determination of their appropriate quality at both macro- and microeconomic level. A key aspect in this regard is the analysis of the proposed rates in the elaborations of the World Economic Forum and International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne which relate to institutional competitiveness.
