Summary/Abstract: The subject of the following publication is the issue of implementation of enterprise e-government services in the states of the European Union. The information society development strategy presents a vision of an electronic administration that significantly influences the effectiveness of public administration. Public sector activity may be ineffective due to its dysfunction and limitations. Public service delivery is a major source of potential inefficiencies. One of its manifestations is the excessive bureaucracy of public organizations that impede business. The analysis was aimed at finding confirmation of the relationship between the development of e-government services offered to entrepreneurs and the level of bureaucracy in the European Union countries. An empirical study conducted for twenty-four EU Member States in the period 2007-2012 did not provide clear evidence of this dependence in all EU countries.
