Resource efficient economy and sustainable models of consumption

Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is the relationship between the purpose of the implementation of the idea of resource efficient economy and potential models of resource efficient consumption. The paper presents the basic challenges and decision-making of the household on the plane of resource efficient household, and then describes four realistically effective models of resource efficient consumption indicating which results from them for the aim described in the article. The author pays attention to the fact that resource efficient management policy is based on the “narrow” philosophy of sustainable development, abstracting from social issues, which can be the source of some problems in the implementation of this project. This applies in particular to the risk of further pauperization of the poorest consumers.
