Green public procurement as a manifestation of financial activities of public sector for sustainable development

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the issue of the role of green public procurement in financing of activities for sustainable development. It describes the nature and determinants of green public procurement and opportunities arising from their use for the achievement of the objectives of sustainable development. It shows the initiatives of the European Union in this area, as well as the use of these procedures in the UK and Poland. The existence of public procurement procedures certainly constitutes an important opportunity to take action by the public sector for sustainable development.
