Translation of school documents into French

Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the translation into French of some elements issued from the Polish General Certificate of Secondary Education. Terms such as titles, certificate, school and qualification names are related to a specific education system. The specificity of the Polish and French education systems causes translation difficulties which translators must cope with looking for some models, translation norms. Lack of unambiguous translation norms provokes that one polish term has several French equivalents. Creating a potential translation model for Polish documents seems to be useful but does not solve all atypical translational problems which may appear during the translation.
