Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to justify the social significance of sociology in the contemporary world because nowadays the feeling that sociology as science undergoes fundamental crisis is apparently wide spread. The author argues that contemporary sociology should be intimately involved in the comprehension of civil society dynamics and in solving the problem of modern liberty.
