Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the importance of communication in all companies nowadays as an increasing need for achieving high performance. After reviewing some theoretical elements, the paper deals with a case study referring to practical issues related to communication at Lafarge Romania. The case study presents the communication system of this company, the documents both international and local which regulate communication strategies and practices, the importance of having a country communication manager and what his/her duties are.
