Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the role of local government in the implementation of sustainable development of rural areas. The goal of the article is an attempt to present the importance of local government in the implementation of sustainable development in rural areas. The article uses excerpts of surveys conducted among individuals local government − municipalities located on rural areas in West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
