The importance of gender equality for long-term growth

Summary/Abstract: Encouraging companies to use the intellectual potential of women, is an action that in the future may help increase the competitiveness and innovation of both companies and the development of the economy. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to present a correlation which exists between gender equality in the labor market and the long-term economic growth. The aim of the article affects its structure, which includes the presentation of gender equality in the political discourse of the European Union, including Poland and the relation between gender equality in companies and their development. To achieve the objective of the article, the author will analyze legislation related to gender equality in the labor market and reports on the importance of gender equality for the development of enterprises.
