Summary/Abstract: The second edition of the Young Painters’ Trienial has a patron-painter: Marian Michalik, who died in 1997. He painted unique still life studies (featured in the ‘Format’ magazine, 1999, No. 30). In 2004, 130 artists sent 763 pictures, and pieces of art by 67 artists were selected for the exhibition. Ministerial Award (10,000 zlotys) was given to Wojciech Kubiak for his ‘Three Young Colleagues’. The City of Czêstochowa Presidential Award (5,00 0 zlotys) was given to £ukasz Huculak for his ‘Still Life with Green Background’. Jaros³¹w Lewer received an award from the director of the City Gallery in Czêstochowa (3,000 zlotys) for the picture entitled ‘An Oil Container’. Polish Painting Foundation and Talens Company gave 2,000 zlotys worth an award to Bartosz Nalepa for ‘A Gimnast’. Four certificates of merit were given to: Mi³osz Pobiedziñski, Maciej Poniedzia³ek, Wojciech Rokosz and Jacek Sztuka. Piotr G³owacki was the curator of the competition.
