Benchmarking in supporting monitoring of processes against the background of the process approach

Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this article is to present the scope and the role of benchmarking in supporting the monitoring of processes against the background of process approach.Research issues determined the choice of research methods, such as: literature review, analysis of internal materials of the selected company, deductive and analogical reasoning. The results of the research depicted in the article show that benchmarking is one of the main supporting tools in the process monitoring. Benchmarking can be used at the design phase of the process monitoring system and during system operation. Therefore, there are two types of benchmarking: a pre-implementation benchmarking and a post-implementation benchmarking.
