A conceptual framework for benchmarking companies in a cluster

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the essence of the benchmarking adapted to the needs of the cluster members, in the context of cluster attributes that favour the use of this instrument to improve different areas of benchmarking partners. Research issues and the purpose determined the choice of research methods, such as: literature review, method of transfer concept and deductive reasoning. The results of the research depicted in the article show that the implementation of the concept of benchmarking is justified by the cluster members, because of the cluster peculiarities and the presence of key factors determinating the success of benchmarking partnership. The essence of intra-cluster benchmarking is mutually beneficial exchange of information by benchmarking partners about a performance and best practices, which leads to the improved performance of all parties involved in the benchmarking project.
