Summary/Abstract: In the strategic management literature much attention is paid to the the essence and importance of both good strategy formulation and proper strategy implementation. However, business practice shows that on the one hand companies possess highly developed skills in the area of formulating strategies, but on the other it is amazing that their competence in the area of the effective implementation of strategies is unexpectedly low. Therefore, many authors try to find a solution to the riddle why companies are ineffective in the process of strategy implementation. They identify various factors that influence the effectiveness of the strategy implementation process. Often among them there are mentioned such as: poorly developed leadership skills among managers, an improper allocation of decision-making powers, improper communication about strategy, lack of ability to manage change or lack of adequate incentives associated with the implemented strategy. One may wonder whether the companies that achieve market success also have to deal with the above-mentioned problems. This paper, based on the results of research conducted as a part of the project The implementation of the strategy in the organization - model, determinants and implications 2, presents five key problems, with which the companies that achieve market success had to deal with in the process of strategy implementation. It turns out that in this type of companies, two situations cause most often and at the same time the largest problems in the process of strategy implementation. These are: changes in the environment and the lack of adequate financial resources.
